Ambulatory Surgical Center

The Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Payment System covers facility fees for covered surgical procedures performed in Medicare-certified ASCs. ASC rates are separate from the physician's professional fee and are generally lower than hospital outpatient rates for the same service.
