M-codes — Medical Services

Miscellaneous medical services — primarily preventive screenings and Medicare-specific evaluations.

M-codes (M0000-M9999) are a small set of HCPCS codes for medical services that don't fit cleanly into other categories. The most-used M-codes are screenings and assessments for Medicare beneficiaries (M0064 brief office visit for monitoring/changing prescriptions, M0075 cellular therapy).

Many M-codes have been deprecated as their services moved into CPT. The remaining active set is small but persistent.
